Indigenous Australian History
Welcome to Teen Homeschooling Australia's senior Indigenous Australian History units. All units in this area are written and collated by a qualified university tutor with over 10 years experience teaching in the Indigenous Australian school at James Cook University.
All units are designed to be interesting and engaging, and to help you to understand our indigenous history, where we have come from as Australians, and where we might go in the future.
In 1992 Paul Keating delivered a speech to Australia detailing the atrocities committed against Australian Indigenous people since the time of Australian colonisation. Your task will be to read through the speech and make your own assessment on how you feel about the issues of Australian colonisation, the treatment of Australian indigenous people since the time of colonisation and how we can proceed in to a united future.

A video recording of Paul Keating's speech at Redfern 1993. If you choose not to read the speech, you may need to watch this quite a few times!
Interesting video asking ATSI people different questions. Good for getting an overall view of Indigenous Australians and how their opinions vary on different topics.
